Group 8760's GISBAgent® has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Electronic Commerce Community Ovation (EC*CO) award at the Electronic Commerce World 2000 Conference here.
GISBAgent®, an electronic delivery mechanism that has been certified by the Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB), was nominated for an EC*CO award in the Enterprise Application Integration category.
The EC*CO awards were created to recognize outstanding products or services in the electronic commerce marketplace. They are presented to companies offering products or services that are deemed unique and innovative by a panel of judges representing a cross section of academia, business and the media.
"It is an honor to be recognized by our peers in the e-commerce world," said Jim Mark, chief operating officer of Group 8760. "GISBAgent® has received praise from our customers since its launch in March of this year. We have worked hard to develop a superior product that leverages our clients' existing infrastructure yet positions them for future e-commerce initiatives."
Used extensively in the natural gas industry for inbound and outbound Internet electronic data interchange (EDI) and other file transport between trading partners over the Internet, GISBAgent® has also been chosen by electric distribution companies in the Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio deregulated marketplaces.
Group 8760's enabling technology, the InsideAgent® component architecture, provides the electronic infrastructure that allows clients to connect directly with customers, suppliers, distributors, manufacturers and other trading partners.
